Meet Our Camp Leaders

  • Katie

    Camp Manager

    Katie is the founder or Glow Worm Cafe & Play and is responsible for activity planning and all of the behind-the-scenes administrative work that goes into planning the camps! She’s your first point of contact for questions involving our camps and your campers.

  • Sydney

    Head Counselor

    Sydney is an experienced childcare provider, parent support specialist & certified free play facilitator. She also leads the Parents Day Out program at Glow Worm, and is one of our facilitators for Cocoon, a weekly new parent group at Glow Worm.

  • Ella

    Head Counselor

    Ella has been a part of the Glow Worm crew for almost a year, but before that she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s in Musical Theater, and worked as a paraeducator for 2 years before moving to Louisville.

The Details

AGE REQUIREMENTS & COST

Glow Worm Summer Camp is for age 5 to 8 (rising kindergartners through rising third graders). We accept 10 campers per week.

Weekly rates for camps are $325/child which includes:

  • Full day camp from 8:30AM to 4:30PM

  • AM/PM snack

  • Daily programming

  • Weekly field trip & pizza party

  • All supplies & activities

A 50% deposit is required to hold your camper’s spot. This deposit is non-refundable unless we are able to backfill your spot from our waitlist.

Superhero Academy camp is listed at a reduced rate due to the short holiday week.

One scholarship per week is available to a family with low income. This is a lottery system and families will be chosen at random no later than February 15, 2025. If you would like to apply for the scholarship, please fill out the form here.

CAMP HOURS

  • Camp Hours: 8:30AM - 4:30PM

  • Drop off: 8:30AM-9:30AM

  • Programming: 9:30AM-3:30PM

  • Pickup: 3:30PM-4:30PM

CAMP AGENDA

Daily: Art projects, games, STEM activities, indoor & outdoor play time

Weekly: Guest speaker & themed activity, field trip, music & movement

WHAT TO BRING

Sack lunch, refillable water bottle, sunscreen, comfy clothes & shoes, and any medications your child needs during camp hours. Field trip specifics will be provided for each week and we’ll let you know if there’s anything additional you may need!

FAQ

  • Nope! All campers meet in our classroom in the morning, and they will have the following daily activities in the classroom:

    • Art

    • STEM

    • Music & Movement

    • Lunch & Snack

    Campers will enjoy nature walks in our neighborhood & play time at Patterson Playground (0.4 miles from Glow Worm). Any time the kids leave the building, the ratio of adults to children will be at least 4:1.

    Campers will also take weekly field trips.

  • Field trips are included in the cost of your camp fee. The ratio of campers to adults for field trips is at least 4:1. Parents will be made aware of the field trip time and location before the start of their weekly camp.

    Campers will be transported safely by a professional charter bus company.

  • Nope! We will have a dedicated play session for campers each day, and they will be supervised by head camp counselor and the assistant counselor. Campers will not be in the same play sessions as non-camp Glow Worm patrons.

  • We will provide healthy and yummy snacks from our commercial kitchen, such as veggies and dip, hummus and pita, fruit, or a special order from our baker. All snacks will be allergy-friendly.
